Overview
Huoxue ointment is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) topical preparation developed by Beijing Tiantan Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University. It is primarily used for the treatment of pain associated with early-stage knee osteoarthritis. The formulation is designed based on the TCM principle of "Huoxue" (promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis) to alleviate pain and reduce inflammation. In clinical studies, it has been compared to ibuprofen cream to evaluate its analgesic efficacy and potential to delay or reverse early osteoarthritic changes in the knee joint.
