Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Huqizhengxiao (HQZX) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) decoction composed of ten herbs, primarily investigated for its antitumor effects in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It appears to exert its therapeutic effects by inhibiting tumor cell proliferation and inducing apoptosis. Mechanistically, HQZX has been shown to reduce telomerase activity and downregulate the phosphorylation of signaling molecules in the ERK and STAT3 pathways. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials, such as ChiCTR2400080963, as a combination therapy with Western medicine for patients with hepatitis B-related hepatocellular carcinoma and liver cirrhosis.
