Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Hutox is a highly purified botulinum toxin type A injectable product developed for both medical and cosmetic applications. It acts as a neuromuscular blocking agent by inhibiting the release of acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction. This results in temporary muscle relaxation and reduction of dynamic wrinkles such as glabellar lines (frown lines), crow’s feet, and forehead lines. Medically, it is also used to treat conditions involving muscle spasticity and excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis). Hutox is produced by Huons BioPharma (formerly part of Huons Global) in South Korea and has been registered and marketed in Korea since 2020[1][3][4][8]. The product boasts a high purity level (up to 99.8%) and comes as a lyophilized powder for reconstitution before injection[1][2][4]. Effects typically last 4–6 months.
