Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HuZhen Capsule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Quan Jiang for the treatment of acute gout, specifically targeting patients with damp-heat retention. Also known as Huzhen Tongfeng Formula (HZTF), it is a complex herbal medicine containing 34 active compounds that target multiple biological pathways. The drug's mechanism of action involves the inhibition of arachidonic acid metabolism and the suppression of various inflammatory mediators, providing anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and detumescence effects. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials to assess its efficacy in reducing VAS pain scores and systemic inflammatory markers such as C-reactive protein (CRP) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR).
