Hx-003 is an allogeneic cell therapy candidate consisting of hepatocyte-like cells derived from stem cells, currently under development by HepaTx. Licensed from Stanford University, the technology involves a proprietary process to differentiate stem cells into functional hepatocyte-like cells intended to treat various liver diseases. These cells are reported to possess immunomodulatory properties, which may facilitate their engraftment and potentially reduce the requirement for long-term immunosuppression in recipients. Hx-003 is designed as a scalable regenerative medicine solution, aiming to provide a functional alternative to whole-organ liver transplantation for patients with metabolic or end-stage liver conditions.
