HX001

HX001 is a recombinant oncolytic herpes simplex virus type 1 (oHSV-1) developed by Wuhan Houxian Biomedical for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. The virus is engineered to selectively replicate within malignant cells, leading to direct cell lysis (oncolysis) and the subsequent release of tumor-associated antigens, cytokines, and danger signals. This process transforms the "cold" tumor microenvironment into an "immunologically hot" one, potentially inducing a systemic anti-tumor immune response that can target both local and metastatic lesions. HX001 is currently being investigated in Phase 1 clinical trials in China to assess its safety, tolerability, and preliminary anti-tumor activity in patients with various refractory solid tumors.
