HX9428 is an investigational, orally administered small-molecule inhibitor of **Non-muscle Myosin II (NMII)** being developed for the treatment of **wet age-related macular degeneration (wAMD)**. Developed by **Fujian Haixi Pharmaceuticals** in collaboration with **Myosin Therapeutics**, the drug targets the myosin superfamily of molecular nanomotors. Non-muscle Myosin II plays a critical role in cellular contraction, vascular permeability, and the stabilization of the blood-retinal barrier. By inhibiting NMII, HX9428 aims to reduce the vascular leakage and abnormal angiogenesis characteristic of neovascular AMD. As an oral tablet, it is designed to provide a more convenient alternative or adjunct to the standard-of-care intravitreal anti-VEGF injections. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase I/II clinical trials to assess its safety, pharmacokinetics, and preliminary efficacy in patients with wAMD.
