Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HY-083 is a proprietary intranasal spray formulation of a transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) agonist being developed by Hyloris Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of idiopathic rhinitis, a chronic condition characterized by rhinitis symptoms resembling allergic rhinitis but without identifiable allergic or infectious triggers.[1][3][5][7][9][11] By locally activating and depolarizing TRPV1-expressing sensory nerve fibers in the nasal mucosa, the product is intended to defunctionalize overactive sensory nerves and restore normal nasal mucosal function, thereby reducing symptoms such as nasal obstruction and rhinorrhea.[5][7][8][9] HY-083 uses a known chemical entity in a new, locally acting intranasal formulation and has completed a Phase 1 study showing no detectable systemic exposure after intranasal administration, supporting its development as a topical, low-systemic-risk therapy in a setting with limited effective treatment options.[1][3][5][7][9][11]
