HY-090 is an oral liquid, locally acting pharmaceutical product candidate being co-developed by Hyloris Pharmaceuticals and AFT Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of burning mouth syndrome, a chronic idiopathic pain condition characterized by burning sensations in the oral mucosa with no visible lesions.[1][5][7][10][11] It is positioned as a value-added reformulation/repurposing of an existing active pharmaceutical ingredient intended for global markets via the FDA 505(b)(2)-style development strategy, with Hyloris leading formulation and manufacturing and AFT managing clinical development.[1][4][5] The precise active ingredient and molecular mechanism of action have not yet been publicly disclosed, but the product is designed to provide local symptomatic relief in the oral cavity with minimal systemic exposure.[1][4][5]
