Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HY-095 is a long-acting injectable small molecule formulation of a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) being developed by Hyloris Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome (EGUS). Utilizing the 505(b)(2) regulatory pathway, the drug is a reformulation of an existing PPI, designed to provide a more convenient and effective delivery method compared to standard oral or short-acting treatments in horses. HY-095 acts by inhibiting the gastric H+/K+-ATPase enzyme (the proton pump) in the stomach lining, which is the final step in gastric acid secretion. By reducing acid production, the drug facilitates the healing of ulcers in the stomach lining of affected equines.
