HY-19745 is a potent and selective small molecule inhibitor of **Cathepsin E (CTSE)**, a non-lysosomal aspartic protease. Cathepsin E is implicated in various pathological processes, including the progression and immune evasion of **colorectal cancer (CRC)**. Research indicates that CTSE drives tumor growth and metastasis by activating the **TGF-β/SMAD** signaling pathway and facilitating the ADP-ribosylation of **ZNF326**. By pharmacologically inhibiting CTSE, HY-19745 suppresses these oncogenic pathways, reduces tumor proliferation, and impairs the ability of cancer cells to evade immune surveillance. It is primarily utilized as a research tool in preclinical models to evaluate the therapeutic potential of targeting aspartic proteases in oncology.
