HY0721 is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody fragment (Fab) that targets Glycoprotein VI (GPVI), a key collagen receptor found on the surface of platelets. Developed by Suzhou Huyun New Drug Research and Development, HY0721 is specifically designed for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke (AIS). By inhibiting the interaction between collagen and GPVI, the drug prevents platelet activation and subsequent thrombus formation at the site of vascular injury. A significant therapeutic advantage of HY0721 is its ability to provide potent antiplatelet effects without significantly prolonging bleeding time, potentially offering a safer profile compared to traditional antiplatelet agents. The drug is currently undergoing Phase 2 clinical evaluation to assess its safety and efficacy in patients with AIS.
