Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HY3000 is a synthetic peptide drug developed as a nasal spray for the prevention of COVID-19. It functions as an inhibitor of the SARS-CoV-2 spike (S) protein, blocking viral entry into host cells. The drug is designed to be administered intranasally, targeting the primary route of infection for respiratory viruses like SARS-CoV-2. Its development was led by the National Institute for Viral Disease Control and Prevention, China CDC, with subsequent collaboration from Hybio Pharmaceutical and the Institute of Microbiology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. As of March 2025, HY3000 has reached Phase 1 clinical trials in China[1][3][4][5][10].
