Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HY3001 is a broad-spectrum antiviral peptide nasal spray being developed by Hybio Pharmaceutical in collaboration with the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Academician Gao Fu. The drug is a peptide designed to bind to a highly conserved sequence within the coronavirus genome or protein structure, enabling broad-spectrum activity against various coronavirus strains, including SARS-CoV-2. Administered intranasally, HY3001 is intended to provide localized antiviral protection and treatment at the primary site of viral entry and replication in the upper respiratory tract. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 and other coronavirus infections. Note that Hybio Pharmaceuticals is also developing a separate candidate referred to as the HY3001 Peptide Vaccine.
