Overview
Hyadrol is an intra-articular injectable combination therapy composed of sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid) and adelmidrol, a synthetic analogue of the endogenous fatty acid amide palmitoylethanolamide (PEA). It is designed to treat pain and improve joint mobility in patients with degenerative joint diseases, such as osteoarthritis of the hip (coxarthrosis) and the hand (rhizoarthrosis). The hyaluronic acid component acts as a viscosupplement, restoring the viscoelastic properties of the synovial fluid to enhance lubrication and shock absorption. The adelmidrol component belongs to the ALIAmide (Autacoid Local Inflammation Antagonism) family and works by modulating mast cell overactivation and degranulation, thereby controlling the neuroinflammation that contributes to joint degradation and chronic pain.
