Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Hyalodisc** is a hyaluronic acid-based intradiscal injection formulation (8 mg/mL) designed for X-ray-guided administration into the intervertebral disc. It acts as a viscosupplement, mimicking the viscoelastic properties of natural hyaluronic acid in synovial fluid to provide lubrication, shock absorption, and structural support within the disc, potentially alleviating pain associated with degenerative disc disease. Evaluated in clinical investigation NCT04757038, it is combined with PEP (positioning and exercise program) to assess efficacy in disc-related back pain, targeting patients unresponsive to conservative therapies.[6]
