Hyaluronic acid + galacto-xyloglucan is a topical ophthalmic combination therapy used as a multiple-action tear substitute for the management of dry eye disease (DED). The formulation typically consists of 0.4% hyaluronic acid, a high-molecular-weight glycosaminoglycan with exceptional water-retention and mucoadhesive properties, and 0.2% galacto-xyloglucan (also known as tamarind seed polysaccharide), a natural polysaccharide that provides a protective barrier and promotes corneal wound healing.
