Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HYB_JCV is an antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) being developed by Hybridize Therapeutics for the treatment of Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy (PML). PML is a rare and often fatal demyelinating disease of the central nervous system caused by the reactivation of the JC virus (JCV), typically in immunocompromised individuals. HYB_JCV is designed to specifically bind to JCV viral mRNA, thereby inhibiting viral gene expression and replication. By targeting the viral transcript directly, the drug aims to halt the progression of the infection in the brain. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
