HYC750

HYC750 is a patent-protected biologic formulation of hyaluronan (hyaluronic acid) developed by Orcrist Bio. It is designed as a stem cell mobilizer that promotes the egress of hematopoietic stem cells and other blood cells from the bone marrow into the peripheral blood. The drug's mechanism of action involves interacting with the CD44 receptor, which plays a critical role in the adhesion of stem cells within the bone marrow niche; by modulating this interaction, HYC750 facilitates the release of these cells into circulation where they can be harvested for transplantation or used to treat chemotherapy-induced blood cell depletion. HYC750 entered Phase I clinical trials in 2009 to evaluate its safety, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics in healthy volunteers.
