Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**HyCAMP** is an investigational intravenous hyaluronic acid-based formulation of the topoisomerase I inhibitor irinotecan. Developed using Alchemia's HyACT drug-delivery platform, it uses hyaluronic acid as a carrier intended to enhance delivery and retention of irinotecan in CD44-expressing solid tumors. HyCAMP was evaluated primarily for metastatic colorectal cancer. A randomized Phase II study suggested longer progression-free survival versus irinotecan alone, but the subsequent pivotal Phase III trial in metastatic colorectal cancer did not improve progression-free survival relative to standard irinotecan-containing FOLFIRI and did not meet its primary endpoint. It was not approved for marketing. ([link.springer.com](https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00280-010-1303-3))
