Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Hydralief is a sterile ophthalmic solution containing sodium hyaluronate, primarily indicated for the relief of dry eye symptoms and ocular surface irritation. Sodium hyaluronate is a high-molecular-weight polysaccharide that occurs naturally in the human eye and connective tissues, possessing significant viscoelastic and mucoadhesive properties. When applied topically, it forms a stable, long-lasting lubricating film over the corneal and conjunctival epithelium, which stabilizes the tear film and reduces evaporation. This physical barrier minimizes friction during blinking and protects the ocular surface from environmental stressors, thereby alleviating discomfort such as burning, itching, and foreign body sensation. It is commonly developed and marketed by Entod Pharmaceuticals.
