Overview

Hydrocortamate is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid. It is structurally related to hydrocortisone (cortisol) and was developed for its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. Like other glucocorticoids, it acts as an agonist at the glucocorticoid receptor, modulating gene expression to suppress inflammation and immune responses. Hydrocortamate has been used topically in dermatology for the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. Its mechanism of action involves inhibition of phospholipase A2, suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokines, and reduction in leukocyte migration.
