Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HydroVax-YFV is an inactivated whole-virus vaccine candidate developed by Najit Technologies for the prevention of yellow fever. The vaccine is produced using the proprietary HydroVax platform, which utilizes hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to inactivate the virus while preserving critical structural epitopes necessary for inducing a robust immune response. This technology is designed to offer the immunogenicity of a live-attenuated vaccine with the safety profile of an inactivated product, potentially providing a safer alternative to the current live-attenuated 17D yellow fever vaccine, particularly for high-risk populations such as the elderly and immunocompromised individuals. Preclinical studies in animal models, including non-human primates, have demonstrated that HydroVax-YFV is highly immunogenic and provides protective immunity against viral challenge.
