Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HYL003 (also known as LTI-201) is a stable, aqueous ophthalmic formulation of the glycopeptide antibiotic vancomycin, currently under development by AFT Pharmaceuticals and Hyloris Pharmaceuticals in partnership with Latitude Pharmaceuticals. The drug is specifically designed to treat resistant ocular infections, including those caused by Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), such as bacterial conjunctivitis and keratitis. Unlike traditional vancomycin eye drops, which are typically prepared extemporaneously and suffer from poor stability, HYL003 utilizes a proprietary formulation technology that allows it to remain stable at room temperature. The program is currently in the IND-enabling phase, with a pre-IND application already filed with the FDA.
