Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Hylatopic** is a prescription topical emollient foam, cream, and lotion formulation designed for skin barrier repair and hydration. It contains key ingredients such as **hydroxypropyl bispalmitamide MEA (a ceramide analog)**, **sodium hyaluronate**, **glycerin**, **petrolatum**, and **tocopheryl acetate**, which moisturize the skin, reduce itching and irritation, and support epidermal barrier function in conditions like dry skin, dermatitis (including atopic and radiation-induced), and various dermatoses. Developed initially by Collegium Pharmaceutical and later commercialized by specialty dermatology companies including Encore Dermatology and Onset Therapeutics, it is applied topically 3 times daily or as needed, with occlusion possible on broken skin, and is classified by the FDA as a hydrogel wound and burn dressing with drug/biologic components.[1][3][5][9][10]
