hYP7-DC is a preclinical antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) developed for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It consists of a humanized monoclonal antibody, hYP7, which specifically targets glypican-3 (GPC3)—a cell-surface protein highly expressed in over 70% of HCC cases and associated with poor prognosis. The antibody is conjugated to duocarmycin SA, a potent DNA-alkylating agent. Upon binding to GPC3 on the surface of liver cancer cells, the ADC is internalized and releases its payload, leading to DNA damage and cell death. Research has demonstrated that hYP7-DC exhibits picomolar potency against GPC3-positive cancer cell lines and shows synergistic anti-tumor effects when combined with gemcitabine in both in vitro and in vivo models.
