Overview

hypACT is a blood-derived regenerative biologic developed by OrthoSera. It is composed of hyperacute serum (HAS), which is a serum-based product produced through a proprietary process that removes platelets, leukocytes, and fibrin while concentrating endogenous growth factors and regenerative proteins. While an autologous version (hypACT Inject) is already CE-marked for clinical use, OrthoSera is developing an allogeneic, lyophilized (freeze-dried) 'off-the-shelf' version. This allogeneic product includes the removal of IgM and IgG antibodies to ensure safety and compatibility across patients. The mechanism of action relies on the synergistic effect of multiple blood-derived proteins to provide supportive and regenerative benefits rather than targeting a single molecular pathway. It is primarily intended for intra-articular injection to treat osteoarthritis and for intradermal or topical application in skin rejuvenation and aesthetic medicine.
