Overview

**Hyper-sialylated human IgG m234** is an engineered hyper-sialylated form of human immunoglobulin G designed to enhance anti-inflammatory effects beyond standard IVIg therapy. It features increased sialylation on the Fc domain, which upregulates inhibitory FcγRIIb on effector cells like macrophages and B cells, reduces binding to activating Fcγ receptors, and attenuates proinflammatory responses. Developed by Momenta Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Janssen/Johnson & Johnson), it aims to treat autoimmune diseases such as immune thrombocytopenia purpura (ITP) at lower doses with improved efficacy and tolerability compared to conventional high-dose IVIg.
