Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Hyperol is an approved topical antiseptic developed and manufactured by Meditop Pharmaceutical Ltd. Its active ingredient is carbamide peroxide (also known as urea hydrogen peroxide), a small molecule disinfectant that releases hydrogen peroxide and oxygen upon contact with water. This reaction provides a broad-spectrum antimicrobial effect, destroying bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other parasites. Hyperol is formulated as tablets intended to be dissolved in water to create a 3-30% solution for external use. It is indicated for the cleaning and disinfection of wounds, skin injuries, abrasions, and sores. The mechanical foaming action of the released oxygen gas helps to clean infections deep in tissue, reduce bleeding, and promote clotting. The product has been marketed in Hungary as a non-prescription antiseptic since 1995.
