HyperTargIPS-NK is an allogeneic induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived natural killer (NK) cell therapy being developed by Magle Biopharma. The platform utilizes engineered NK cells that can be modified using Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) technology, non-CAR activation mechanisms, or TRUCK (T-cells redirected for universal cytokine killing)-style engineering to enhance anti-tumor activity and overcome the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. Currently in the preclinical stage, the therapy is being investigated for the treatment of solid tumors, including pancreatic cancer and glioblastoma, as well as hematological malignancies like acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The use of iPSCs as a starting material allows for a standardized, off-the-shelf approach to cell therapy, potentially improving scalability and reducing manufacturing costs compared to autologous therapies.
