Overview

A therapeutic peptide vaccine targeting hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (HIF-1α) and the hepatocyte growth factor receptor (c-MET). HIF-1α is a transcription factor that regulates the cellular response to hypoxia and is frequently upregulated in chemoresistant tumors, while c-MET is a receptor tyrosine kinase that promotes tumor cell proliferation, survival, and metastasis. The vaccine is designed to elicit a type I immune response, increasing the infiltration of CD8+ T cells and improving the M1/M2 macrophage ratio within the tumor microenvironment. Preclinical studies in models of high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma indicate that this vaccine can reverse hypoxia-induced signaling and reprogram the immune environment to overcome platinum resistance, particularly when used in combination with carboplatin.
