Overview

HypoxiSense 680 (also known as IVISense Hypoxia CA IX 680) is a near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent in vivo imaging agent designed to target carbonic anhydrase IX (CA IX), a cell surface enzyme overexpressed in hypoxic tumor environments. Developed by PerkinElmer (now Revvity), the probe is synthesized by coupling the NIR fluorochrome IVISense 680 NHS (formerly VivoTag-680) to a derivative of the carbonic anhydrase inhibitor acetazolamide. It is used in preclinical research to non-invasively image and quantify regional tumor hypoxia and associated changes in animal models of cancer, angiogenesis, and inflammation.
