Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Genteal Lubricant Gel is an ophthalmic lubricant formulated primarily with hypromellose (0.3%) as its active ingredient. It is designed to relieve symptoms of dry eye by providing moisture and protection to the ocular surface. The gel forms a protective film over the eye that helps retain moisture and reduce evaporation of the tear film. This product is indicated for temporary relief of burning, irritation, and discomfort caused by dry eyes or exposure to wind or sun. It may also be used as a protectant against further irritation or injury[1][2][4][7]. The mechanism of action involves mimicking natural tears and stabilizing the tear film on the ocular surface[6]. Genteal products are developed for both moderate and severe dry eye symptoms; the gel formulation is especially recommended for nighttime use due to its thicker consistency[1].
