Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HyQvia (human normal immunoglobulin 10% with recombinant human hyaluronidase) is a facilitated subcutaneous immunoglobulin (fSCIG) therapy. It is a dual-vial unit containing human normal immunoglobulin G (IgG) and recombinant human hyaluronidase (rHuPH20). The hyaluronidase component temporarily depolymerizes hyaluronan in the subcutaneous extracellular matrix, increasing tissue permeability and allowing for the subcutaneous infusion of large volumes of immunoglobulin. This enables up to once-monthly dosing, combining the convenience of subcutaneous administration with the less frequent dosing schedule of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG). HyQvia is approved for the treatment of primary immunodeficiency (PI) and as a maintenance therapy for chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) to prevent relapse of neuromuscular disability.
