HYR-PB21

HYR-PB21 is a sustained-release formulation of bupivacaine designed to provide prolonged local anesthesia and improved postoperative pain control. It is administered as a microparticle suspension injection containing bupivacaine pamoate. Preclinical studies in animal models have demonstrated that HYR-PB21 produces longer-lasting local anesthesia compared to conventional bupivacaine hydrochloride and liposomal bupivacaine preparations[2][5][6]. Clinical trials in patients undergoing procedures such as haemorrhoidectomy have shown that a single dose of HYR-PB21 provides superior pain relief and reduces opioid consumption postoperatively, with an adverse effect profile similar to standard bupivacaine HCl[5]. The drug is being developed primarily for the management of postoperative pain, but has also been studied for indications including anesthesia, neuralgia, herpes zoster-related pain, and hemorrhoids[1].
