Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Hysan Salinspray (hysan® Salinspray) is a nasal spray medical device containing a 2.7% hypertonic sea salt solution (Maris Sal). Developed and manufactured by URSAPHARM Arzneimittel GmbH, it is indicated for the symptomatic relief of nasal congestion associated with acute nasopharyngitis (common cold) and acute sinusitis. The solution works via an osmotic mechanism, drawing excess water from the swollen nasal mucosa to reduce inflammation and liquefying thick secretions to facilitate drainage. It is free of preservatives and chemical additives, making it suitable for long-term use without the risk of habituation or rebound effects. It is approved for use in adults, children from 1 year of age, and during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
