I-124-CPD-1028 is a radioconjugate composed of the insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF-1R) binding agent CPD-1028 and conjugated to the radionuclide iodine I 124. It is designed for potential tumor imaging upon positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT). Upon administration, I-124-CPD-1028 targets and binds to IGF-1R-expressing tumor cells, allowing for their visualization and assessment. IGF-1R is a receptor tyrosine kinase that is frequently overexpressed in various human cancers and plays a significant role in stimulating cellular proliferation, oncogenic transformation, and suppressing apoptosis. CPD-1028 is described as a novel Figitumumab-based iodine-residualizing radioimmunoconjugate suitable for imaging and radiotherapy.
