Overview

I-BRD9 is a selective, potent small molecule chemical probe that inhibits the bromodomain of Bromodomain-containing protein 9 (BRD9) with nanomolar potency and high selectivity, designed for use as a research tool to explore the biological roles of BRD9 in cellular and disease models[3][9]. It was developed via structure-based design to achieve >700-fold selectivity over the BET family of bromodomains and >70-fold over a panel of 34 different bromodomains, making it a valuable reagent for target validation and mechanistic studies[3][9]. I-BRD9 binds endogenous BRD9 in cells and has been used to identify genes regulated by BRD9 involved in immune function and cancer, suggesting a role for BRD9 in oncology and immune pathways[3][9]. It is not currently approved as a therapeutic agent.
