i-FACTOR is a peptide-enhanced bone graft indicated for use in skeletally mature patients undergoing reconstruction of a degenerated cervical disc at one level (C3-C4 to C6-C7) following single-level discectomy for intractable radiculopathy or myelopathy. It is the first spinal bone graft powered by the P-15 Osteogenic Cell Binding Peptide, which synthetically replicates a segment of type I collagen that facilitates cellular attachment in connective tissues. The mechanism involves the surface-bound P-15 peptide chemically bound to calcium phosphate particles, attracting and activating bone-forming cells to promote bone growth and fusion. i-FACTOR is FDA approved as a Class III device for single-level anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF), demonstrating high fusion rates and statistical superiority over local autograft in clinical trials[1][2][4][5][6].
