Overview
i2o Therapeutics is developing a long-acting glucagon receptor (GCGR) agonist peptide for the treatment of obesity and cardio-renal-metabolic diseases. As a glucagon receptor agonist, the drug mimics the action of endogenous glucagon to increase energy expenditure, promote lipolysis, and modulate glucose metabolism. This metabolic profile is intended to complement other incretin-based therapies (such as GLP-1 receptor agonists) to achieve superior weight loss and metabolic improvements.
