Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IA001 is an investigational intravenous **tocilizumab biosimilar** developed for inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis and juvenile idiopathic arthritis. It is a monoclonal antibody designed to antagonize interleukin-6 receptor alpha, thereby blocking signaling through both soluble and membrane-associated IL-6 receptors and reducing IL-6-driven inflammatory activity. IA001 was co-developed by Shanghai Destiny Biotech and Liaoning Grand Nuokang Bio-Pharmaceutical; Phase 1 studies compared its pharmacokinetics, safety, and immunogenicity with Roche's reference tocilizumab product Actemra in healthy male volunteers.
