Ianalumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody of the IgG1/κ class, developed using HuCAL (human combinatorial antibody library) technology. It targets the B-cell activating factor receptor (BAFF-R), which plays a key role in B cell differentiation, proliferation, and survival. Ianalumab exerts a dual mechanism of action by blocking BAFF-R-mediated signaling and inducing potent depletion of B cells through antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity. This targeted approach aims to regulate abnormal B cell activity implicated in various autoimmune diseases. Ianalumab is being investigated for multiple indications including systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjogren's syndrome, lupus nephritis, diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis (scleroderma), rheumatoid arthritis, immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), autoimmune hemolytic anemia (wAIHA), pemphigus vulgaris, multiple sclerosis, chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), and several types of non-Hodgkin lymphoma[1][4][5][7].
