IAP0971 is a novel bifunctional immunocytokine designed for cancer immunotherapy. It consists of an anti-programmed death 1 (PD-1) antibody fused to an interleukin 15 (IL-15)/interleukin 15 receptor alpha (IL-15Ra) complex. This structure enables targeted delivery and activation of IL‑15 signaling specifically within the tumor microenvironment, where PD‑1 is highly expressed, thereby enhancing immune cell activation while minimizing systemic toxicity. Mechanistically, IAP0971 blocks the PD‑1/PD‑L1 pathway and acts as an agonist at the IL‑15 receptor, promoting proliferation and activation of CD8+ T cells and natural killer (NK) cells to induce potent antitumor responses. Preclinical studies have shown favorable safety profiles and strong antitumor activity in vivo. The drug is being developed primarily for advanced solid tumors including lung cancer, cervical cancer, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, liver cancer, lymphoma, bladder cancer, and other malignancies[3][4][5][6].
