Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IASO-002 is a novel virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine candidate being developed by Iaso Therapeutics to target poly-N-acetylglucosamine (PNAG), a cell surface polysaccharide expressed by over 65 human pathogens. The vaccine utilizes Iaso's proprietary mQβ (mutant bacteriophage Qβ) VLP platform as a carrier to present synthetic PNAG antigens. This nanoparticle-based delivery system is designed to display antigens in a highly dense and organized manner (up to 900 molecules per capsid), thereby eliciting a robust and superior antibody response compared to traditional vaccine technologies. IASO-002 is currently in the discovery stage and is being developed for the prevention of significant healthcare-associated infections, including methicillin-resistant *Staphylococcus aureus* (MRSA), urinary tract infections, and pneumonia.
