IASO-002 Plus (also referred to as IASO-002+) is a vaccine platform technology being developed by Iaso Therapeutics, a Michigan State University startup. The platform utilizes a proprietary mutant bacteriophage Qβ (mQβ) virus-like particle (VLP) as a carrier to deliver synthetic poly-N-acetylglucosamine (PNAG) antigens. PNAG is a highly conserved cell surface polysaccharide found on over 65 human pathogens, including various bacteria, fungi, and protozoa. The mQβ VLP carrier technology allows for precise control over antigen structure, density, and presentation, and can be conjugated with various molecules including small molecules, sugars, peptides, proteins, and polysaccharides. IASO-002 Plus is designed to elicit robust, antigen-specific immune responses and is intended for future infectious disease indications beyond the initial targets of MRSA, urinary tract infections, and pneumonia. The platform is engineered for broad-spectrum protection, room-temperature stability, and global scalability.
