Overview

IASO140 is an autologous, dual-targeting chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by Nanjing Reindeer Medical Technology (IASO Bio). It is designed to simultaneously target B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) and G protein-coupled receptor class C group 5 member D (GPRC5D), both of which are highly and specifically expressed on the surface of malignant plasma cells in multiple myeloma. By utilizing a dual-targeting approach, IASO140 aims to mitigate the risk of tumor escape through antigen loss or downregulation, a common resistance mechanism in single-target CAR-T therapies. The therapy is primarily being investigated for the treatment of patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM) who have received at least four prior lines of therapy. The manufacturing process involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express CARs specific to both BCMA and GPRC5D, followed by expansion and re-infusion into the patient to induce a potent anti-tumor immune response.
