Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IAT-S2 is an adeno-associated virus serotype 8 (AAV8)-based gene therapy designed to treat breast cancer-derived liver metastases (BCLM). Developed by InterAct Therapeutics, the therapy targets hepatocytes to modulate the liver microenvironment, restoring hepatocyte fitness and reversing the cell competition mechanism by which metastatic breast cancer cells colonize and expand in the liver. By delivering a therapeutic transgene directly to hepatocytes, IAT-S2 aims to prevent metastatic colonization and suppress metastatic outgrowth, offering a one-time, disease-modifying treatment for liver-dominant metastatic breast cancer.
