Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IB001 is an investigational extracellular vesicle (EV) therapeutic being developed by Interactome Biotherapeutics for the treatment of neuropathic pain and nerve injury. Utilizing the company's proprietary Native Nano Platform, IB001 consists of small extracellular vesicles (sEVs or exosomes) derived from human stem cells. These vesicles are designed to deliver a complex cargo of anti-inflammatory, pro-growth, and immunomodulatory growth factors, along with non-coding RNA, directly to target cells to influence nerve dynamics. Preclinical studies in rodent and non-human primate models have demonstrated that IB001 can enhance the neural immune system, promote axonal outgrowth, improve neural mitochondrial function, and induce widespread anti-inflammatory signaling. As of early 2024, the program is in the IND-enabling development phase, with clinical trials anticipated to begin in 2026.
