Overview

IBC-Ab002 is a fully human, Fc-modified anti-PD-L1 monoclonal antibody developed by ImmunoBrain Checkpoint for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, primarily Alzheimer's disease. Unlike traditional anti-PD-L1 antibodies used in oncology, IBC-Ab002 is engineered for rapid clearance from circulation and is designed to transiently inhibit the PD-L1 immune checkpoint pathway. Its mechanism involves activating the peripheral immune system rather than directly targeting brain tissue. This activation leads to reduced neuroinflammation and decreased accumulation of pathological proteins such as amyloid beta and tau in preclinical models. The drug aims to restore brain-immune communication and promote neuroprotection by harnessing specific immune cells into the brain without requiring direct central nervous system penetration[1][2][3][5][6][7][8][9].
