Overview
IBI-10090 is a sustained-release intracameral formulation of dexamethasone designed for the treatment of inflammation associated with cataract surgery. It utilizes the Verisome drug delivery platform to provide controlled, extended release of dexamethasone directly into the anterior chamber of the eye via a single injection at the conclusion of cataract surgery. This approach offers an alternative to traditional topical corticosteroid eye drops by reducing dosing burden and improving patient convenience. Clinical trials have demonstrated that IBI-10090 is safe and highly effective in reducing postoperative ocular inflammation, with efficacy comparable to prednisolone acetate 1% ophthalmic drops and a similar safety profile[1][2][8]. The active ingredient is dexamethasone, a well-established corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory properties.
